Winter Arc Field Journal cover — deep navy with a silver arc

Why an arc

Everyone waits for January.

The year's last ninety days are the ones most people write off — the cold sets in, the calendar fills, and every ambition gets postponed to an imaginary January where discipline will suddenly be easy.

The Winter Arc is the refusal of that. While everyone else winds down, you build: your body, your mind, your craft. Ninety days is long enough to change all three — and short enough to see the far side from here. Start October 1st with the season, or start today. The arc begins when you write Day One.

This journal is the witness. It asks, once a day, whether you showed up — and keeps your answers where you can't lose them.

Three editions

One system. Three doors.

Same pages, same 90-day machinery — the edition is the cover you want to live with for ninety days. All three are 6×9 paperbacks on Amazon at $14.99.

The method

How it works

  1. Set the arc once. Name who's finishing this year, choose your three pillars, write your five rules — five, not fifteen. Rules you can keep on your worst day.
  2. One page per day, two minutes. Top three tasks, your five rules as checkboxes, one line your January self will thank you for, and the rules you kept.
  3. Review weekly, honestly. What held, what slipped, the one adjustment. The reviews are where the arc actually bends.
  4. Cross the map. Ninety boxes at the front. An unbroken chain is a beautiful thing to defend.
  5. Close the arc. The after-page, a letter to the person starting January, and the question that matters: what survives the arc?

Straight answers

What this is — and isn't

It's a real book, designed properly. 114 pages, 6×9, typeset like something worth keeping. Printed and shipped by Amazon — and if you'd rather print at home or journal on a tablet, the PDF is free.
Undated on purpose. October 1st is the classic start — but the arc begins whenever you write Day One. It works next year too.
No app, no account, no subscription. A book, a pen, ninety days. Paper doesn't send notifications.
It will not do the work. No journal does. It witnesses, structures, and refuses to forget — the showing up is yours.

The journal

The arc is about connecting with yourself, and there is something about writing by hand that makes that connection stronger than when it's done digitally. Ninety days is a long time to stay loyal to a PDF, silently sitting in your device. For a book sitting on the coffee table, asking to be finished, it's not.

Questions

Asked straight, answered straight

When does the Winter Arc start?

The tradition is October 1st — the last 90 days of the year. The journal is undated, so any day you write Day One is Day One.

Is there a PDF version?

Yes, and it's free — put your email in the box above, pick your cover, and it arrives in your inbox. It's the same journal as the paperback, as a file.

Do I need a printer for the PDF?

No. It's equally built for tablet journaling (GoodNotes, Notability, any PDF annotator). If you do print: it's US Letter, black-ink friendly — only the cover is dark.

What's your refund position?

Paperbacks are bought on Amazon, so delivery and returns go through Amazon. The PDF is free, so there's nothing to refund — but if a file is broken, email us and a human fixes it.
